Description:  BLE 910 crossing West Main Street in Girard, PA. B&LE comes through Girard so infrequently that they always operate at low speed at this crossing --- just inching along. I saw many motorists that had a look of total confusion at the sight of a train crossing at this location despite the crossing gates, lights, and bells.

Description:  BLE 902 crosses West Main Street in Girard, PA. As I mentioned in a previous album, B&LE passes through Girard so infrequently that I have had to stop my car for a Bessemer train only once in the last 34 years. A woman who took pictures of the three B&LE locomotives with her cell phone told me she has lived in Girard for 12 years and this is the first time she has seen a train at this crossing.
